Founder Tembesi Fish Farm
Tembesi Fish Farm is a business enterprise dedicated to addressing the pressing issues of poverty and malnutrition in our community.
We specialize in raising fish in sustainable, earthen ponds, providing nutritious fresh fish and value-added products that contribute to local food security and economic development. Sustainable Practices: We are passionate about sustainable aquaculture and employ a circular economy model that enhances our production processes.
Our innovative approach includes integrating black soldier fly larvae (BSFL) as a primary fish feed. These larvae are cultivated using kitchen and animal waste, thereby reducing waste while providing a nutritious food source for our fish. Soil Enrichment and Crop Irrigation: The frass produced from the larvae is utilized to enrich our soils, supporting our crop farming efforts. Additionally, we recycle pond water to irrigate our crops, creating a sustainable ecosystem that maximizes resource efficiency and minimizes environmental impact.
“A dream will remain a dream if you don’t get the right person to help you actualize it! We are grateful to Aiducation International for believing in the dream Tembesi Fish Farm has and giving us the necessary resources to achieve our dreams.”
